Phoenix Yachting Suche

Art des Angebots

Für das Magazin "Masterpiece", das auf den internationalen Bootsmessen von Cannes, Genua und Biograd aufliegt wurde Berni zum Thema Türkei 2019 interviewed. Viel Spaß beim Lesen.

Phoenix Yachting with it’s bases at Marmaris and Fethyie is known as expert of the Turkish sailing area. How difficult were the last two years?
2016 was very hard and difficult for all charter companies in Turkey. 2017 was better again. Now in 2018 we recognize an absolute upward trend.

How did Phoenix Yachting react at the beginning?
We evaluated the situation and the future development in tourism for this country.
Then we decided to stay with our 2 bases but on top we moved a part of our fleet to Croatia. Since 2017 we operate our own base in the Marina Frapa in Rogoznica.
This way we had appealing charter opportunities for our customers in different countries and were able to offer them the well know Phoenix standard.
We received a lot of positive response.

What did sailors report from the Turkish coasts?
Those who have chartered boats at our bases had a great time and perfect conditions. The response and reactions of customers were great and especially in Düsseldorf and Tulln boat show clients told us about their good experiences.
Bookings in 2018 are quite good and for 2019 we expect a further increase. A lot of charter companies were shut down or left Turkey – that benefits us now.

What do you expect of 2019?
We can already see now that the charter requests for 2019 are increasing compared to the previous year. Less competitors and the upturn of charter tourism make Turkey very interesting for Investors and owners to move their yachts there.
Also tourists and sailors come back and the bookings for 2019 are quite strong. Other territories of the Mediterranean Sea such as the Croatian coast are heavily visited and a lot of sailors are looking for alternatives.
This is where we are offering our clients and owners alternatives and that is also why we are expanding in 2020 with another base in another countries.
Finally I must say that the typical strengths of turkey and its people, such as light winds, clean waters, empty bays, overwhelming hospitality and a high change rate for foreign currencies encourage us to maintain our strategy. We expect more boats in the next years at our bases in Turkey.
